Hard diffraction at CDF

چکیده
We present a CDF measurement of diffractive dijet production in p̄p collisions at 1.96 TeV at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider using data from an integrated luminosity of ≈ 310 pb collected by triggering on a high transverse momentum jet in coincidence with a recoil antiproton detected in a roman pot spectrometer. We report final results for 4-momentum transfer squared t > −4 GeV, antiproton-momentum-loss fraction within 0.03-0.09, Bjorken-x of the interacting parton in the antiproton in the range 0.001-0.1, and jet transverse energies from 10 to 100 GeV.

Update of CDF Results on Diffraction
The diffractive program of the CDF Collaboration at the Fermilab Tevatron p̄p Collider is reviewed with emphasis on recent results from Run-II and future prospects. Presented at DIS-2005, XIIIth International Workshop on Deep Inelastic Scallering, April 27 May 1 2005, Madison, WI, U.S.A. Diffractive p̄p interactions are characterized by the presence of at least one large rapidity gap, defined as ...
متن کاملThe diffractive structure function at the Tevatron: CDF results
Results on hard diffraction from CDF are reviewed with emphasis on the determination of the diffractive structure function of the (anti)proton from single diffractive and double Pomeron exchange dijet production. Comparison of the diffractive dijet results with predictions based on diffractive deep inelastic scattering at HERA shows a breakdown of conventional QCD factorization. A similar break...
متن کاملTwenty Years of Diffraction at the Tevatron
Results on diffractive particle interactions from the Fermilab Tevatron p̄p collider are placed in perspective through a QCD inspired phenomenological approach, which exploits scaling and factorization properties observed in data. The results discussed are those obtained by the CDF Collaboration from a comprehensive set of single, double, and multigap soft and hard diffraction processes studied ...

Results on soft and hard diffraction obtained by the CDF Collaboration in Run I of the Fermilab Tevatron p̄p collider are reviewed and compared with results from the DESY ep collider HERA and with theoretical expectations. In addition, the CDF program for diffractive studies in Run II is briefly reviewed with emphasis on the relevant detector upgrades and physics goals.

We present a reference review of diffractive results from CDF for p̄p collisions at √ s = 540, 630, 1800, and 1960 GeV at the Tevatron, published in 19 PRL/PRD papers from 1994 to 2012. Both soft and hard diffractive results are included for single and/or double dissociation, central diffraction or double Pomeron exchange (where both the proton and antiproton remain intact), multi-gap diffractio...

Results on soft and hard diffraction obtained by the CDF Collaboration at the Fermilab Tevatron p̄p Collider are reviewed with emphasis on aspects of the data that point to the underlying QCD mechanism for diffraction. The results are interpreted in terms of a phenomenological approach in which diffraction is due to an exchange of low-x partons subject to color constraints.
